| A company providing specialist insurance
and legal services was facing a problem in that its costs
were too high and that an incentive scheme
which had served the company well for some years was now disproportionately
expensive.
Previous attempts had been made at restructuring the company
and amending the incentive scheme but no progress had been
made. There were particular considerations with TUPE.
We provided the necessary advice and support in discussions
with the employees concerned in order to ensure that the changes
were this time brought into effect. A small number of employees
was made redundant and we provided outplacement support to
them with the intention of assisting them to face the future
confidently.
We also assisted in recruiting new staff where necessary
with the skills and attitudes required to succeed in the newly
formed company.
The restructured business traded with great success in the
subsequently.
